Self-Guided Options
Elgin Fire Barn No. 5 stands as a beacon of Elgin’s history, dating back to 1903 when it was built to modernize firefighting operations. The barn’s brick architecture, original horse stalls, and vintage tools tell a story of resilience and innovation. Nearly demolished in 1990, a passionate community effort saved and transformed it into the museum it is today—a sanctuary of memories and progress.
